We are happy to announce that we released our new app for iOSwith iCloud support today! It took long, that is true. But fact is, our new version contains several innovations so it surely paid to wait. The most important improvement is iCloud support. Now iPhone and iPad users are able to encrypt their files before storing them on Apple´s server.
In order to constantly improve our service and to keep our servers up-to-date, we need to maintain our infrastructure regularly. Although we strive to provide the highest availability of our solution, some of these tasks might have an impact on the availability of our service. Therefore we are now introducing maintenance windows for these tasks. The introduction of planned maintenance windows gives planning reliability to us and our users while we keep working on the best encryption solution for your needs.
Yesterday we released our new Boxcryptor version for Mac OS X. With this version we added improvements in usability, compatibility and stability. Especially the usage in teams is simpler in the latest Mac version.
As of yesterday, the official version of Boxcryptor Portable is available for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X. With the portable version you don’t need a local installation of Boxcryptor anymore to access your sensitive data. In fact, you don’t even need your cloud storage provider’s software anymore. We developed our portable version because we believe that cloud security shouldn’t be limited to users with admin rights.
We are happy to announce that we released our new Boxcryptor for Windows version (2.1.401) today!
Amongst some stability improvements and minor bug fixes, we improved the UI and usability of our Windows version. This means, that our users can now access the Boxcryptor context menu via a right-click everywhere (not only in the Boxcryptor drive). That a lot of users are trying to access Boxcryptor outside the Boxcryptor drive was an important feedback we got from users in a usability test which we conducted a couple of weeks ago.
What do you do when you’re a computer manufacturing company, and you want to increase your revenue for each machine you’re selling, without increasing the price? You might just make a deal with a company which inserts ads into the websites you’re visiting, and preinstall their software on every laptop you ship. Not nice, but almost all computer manufacturing companies do it. It only gets really bad if the software actually removes the most important security features in the web!
We are happy to announce that we just released a new iOS beta version! We know, that our iOS users had to wait for a very long time, but we are convinced that this great new version will conciliate you for the waiting period. Most important change is the new iCloud support. This means that you can now encrypt your iCloud and securely store your files there. This was the most common feature wish of our iPhone and iPad users and we are happy that iCloud is now supported in the new version.
Hi, I already tried the beta version, and I like it a lot, since it solves a major problem I have had with the previous version.
However, I have one important question: Are there any plans to make it possible to browse through a folder containing pictures by swiping from one picture to the next? As of now, one can only open one picture, close it, and open the next one, which is very inconvenient for viewing a larger number of pictures.
Today, in the digital age, the most valuable assets of a company or a person are often not physical objects, but something that is worth much more: data. Whether it is personal data, customer data or a "recipe for the secret sauce”, what it all has in common is that this information is very valuable and has to be protected.
