Boxcryptor Classic was the first product of the Boxcryptor family to secure data in the cloud - officially released in 2011. It grew from a solution originally specific for Dropbox with basic features, to one that supports all main cloud providers, is available on all platforms, and offers even filename encryption. If you are interested in the Boxcryptor Classic versions, you can download it here. Please not that our development focus is on our new Boxcryptor 2.x versions. Boxcryptor Classic will only receive occasional bug fixes.
Please note: Boxcryptor Classic and Boxcryptor 2.0 are not compatible with each other. These are two completely independent products.

It will not be supported on upcoming versions of these operating systems. Therefore, we can’t guarantee that the Classic version will work on them.
We recommend an upgrade to Boxcryptor 2.0 to avoid problems in the future.

We still would like to recommend you to take a look at our New Boxcryptor versions which offer new features such as secure file and folder access sharing, the ability to create groups, or to have a Master Key without having to share your password with anyone. It also has an easier usability, making Boxcryptor more efficient and user-friendly. With the new Boxcryptor you also have the possibility to create an "Local Account", if you also want to keep your encrypted keys on your own device.
